Vitality Athletics Member Spotlight: chad miller
How long have you been coming to Vitality, and what got you started?
I started coming to Vitality in 2021. I knew Tyler from a long time ago when he ran some bootcamps, and I wanted to get back into working out regularly. Since starting here 5 years ago, I've been more consistent with going to the gym and exercising than at any other point in my life.
What's your favorite exercise movement right now? Why?
I've been enjoying back squats. For a while, I didn't push myself hard enough and wasn't seeing consistent gains. Over the last year, I've been slowly increasing the weight and I'm seeing good progress. It's given me confidence to push myself in other movements as well. I also like pushing and pulling the sled. It's a great way to get the heart pumping and legs burning in a short amount of time!
What’s one win (big or small) you’re proud of recently?
Last month I ran a 5K with my 13 year old son, Jackson. I've ran 5K's in the past, but it's been awhile. It was his first one, so I was really proud of him. I finished in 26:12, which was my best time ever. And I beat Jackson by about a minute, just to let him know his old man still got it!
Favorite song/artist/playlist to get you pumped up for a workout?
I like all types of music, but it's always fun hearing the old school rap from the 90s and early 2000s.
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
My wife and I own 2 rental properties. One is a duplex right down the street from Vitality in Ephrata and the other one is in Alabama. We purchased that one without ever seeing it in person.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining?
Don't wait! Start today! I told myself for years that I should start exercising more. The desire was there, but I never put it into action. After starting at Vitality, I've really come to enjoy working out (even at 6 am!) and I miss it when I can't make it in. Starting my day with a workout gives me energy and motivates me to make better choices with my nutrition. The coaches at Vitality have great programming that keeps it fun and engaging. Everyone at the gym is super friendly and it never felt intimidating. Most importantly, you will see results if you stay consistent.
